Lake Taupo’s accommodation ranges from backpacker hostels to luxurious lodges. The region provides a variety of international standard hotels, self contained motels, holiday parks, baches, apartments, lodges, timeshares, guest and hosted accommodation.
We have a total of four thousand commercial rooms or seven thousand commercial beds. When demand exceeds the commercial availability residents open their homes allowing a further ten thousand visitors to be accommodated.
The selection is large with the price range reflective of the choice to hand. Prices start at $20NZD for a dormitory bed with shared amenities in a backpacker lodge through to several hundred dollars at the exclusive Huka Lodge.
